With the holidays over and the weather dismal, January can make even the most cheerful person feel a bit blue.
To combat this discouraging time of year, many people head to salons and day spas to receive some special treatment or a new look by getting one of the many hair and body treatments available in Fayette.
A wide range of beauty treatments are available at the Ici Paris Day Spa and Salon in The Avenue in Peachtree City and at the Ici Paris Medi-Spa at the intersection of Highway 74 and Redwine Road.
Offering everything from salon services and pedicures to massages and wraps, permanent cosmetics and waxing to Botox and laser hair reduction treatments, Ici Paris provides a full menu of beauty treatments.
Angie Holguin, a manager at Ici Paris, said several of its services are in demand at this time of year.
"The massages are always a nice pick-me-up after the holidays. We have a lot of people coming in for the Swedish massage and the reflexology massage," sad Ms. Holguin. "For body treatments, we have a special chocolate mousse body wrap that uses an active chocolate mineral bath and a buttercream mousse."
If a new hair style is desired, Carlo's Salon on Highway 74 in Peachtree City is always on the cutting edge.
Gulissa and Carlo Rodriguez, who co-own the salon, are traveling to Las Vegas this week for a trade show on the latest hair styles and products.
Helping clients find their perfect look is key for the salon.
"Before we start working with someone we always make a consultation first and recommend what is best for them," Ms. Rodriguez said. "It is especially about listening to them about what their goals are with their hair."
For those who feel a more exotic treatment is needed, an ionithermie session may be what they are looking for.
Maura Keller, the owner of Serenity at Cherokee Rose in Fayetteville, offers ionithermie, and said the treatment has been growing in popularity on cruises and in Europe.
Ionithermie is a detox treatment that uses clay and electrodes, helps to decrease the appearance of cellulite, raises energy levels and metabolic rates and creates a positive mood in clients, according to Ms. Keller.
She said January is a common time to get a little special pampering to help begin the new year.
"People feel like they have overindulged during the holidays and they come here to give them a new start. Especially people who want to begin losing weight and going to the gym, this helps them kick start and gets them going," she said. |
